Train in American Academy of Hypnosis |
When choosing to train as a hypnotherapist, we are well aware that you have many choices and that it can be very confusing and difficult to determine which course would suit you best. To help, we have listed the primary benefits of training with us, including some questions that you might like to ask other schools if the issues raised are important to you.
The American Academy of Hypnosis is a national group of 2 training centers, so you can be sure of a secure structure with plenty of support available before, during and after your course, not just from your tutor(s), but also from the other tutors. We can offer supervision and on-going training, if you want to do this with us, but you are free to move on to others if you choose. If support matters to you, you may like to ask other schools about the breadth and depth of their support structures, and whether you are tied to them for supervision or on-going training after your diploma.
Every tutor of the American Academy of Hypnosis is not only a qualified educator but an equally effective hypnotherapist. Each facilitator has also undertaken detailed training in the study of hypnotherapy via the National Guild of Hypnotists, based in USA. This not only means that we are well versed in our discipline, but also that we are amply aware of the teaching methodologies that make learning simple and efficient. If this is important to you, you might as well have a look at the credentials of the other trainers that you might be considering.
The American Academy of Hypnosis course gives you a chance to gain five different qualifications in one. On the successful completion of the course, you will not only gain the CHT and NLP Practitioner Certificate, but you may also submit assignments to grab the Specialist Certifications in Smoking Cessation, Treating Anxiety and Ericksonian Hypnotherapy.
At the American Academy of Hypnosis, every tutor is a full time practitioner in addition to the training. This means that the primary income source of every trainer is from seeing clients. There are many trainers who set up a school simply because they can not make it as practitioners. You certainly wouldn’t want to be trained by them, would you?
We believe it is very important for you to view demonstrations of techniques and get to practice. This gives you confidence to start practicing with people as soon as you qualify, if not before. You are given permission to work with some issues at certain points in your course. Not every trainer demonstrates, and not every trainer gives you a chance to practice and thereby, build your confidence.
We also include business/practice management in our course. Many hypnotherapists fail while practicing because they may be experts in their fields but are absolutely unaware of the marketing efforts required to gain clients. The Academy has great knowledge and experience in this field. Our tutors share with you all the strategies that work and don’t work so you may learn from our successes and mistakes.
We do not simply enroll everyone onto our courses. You are interviewed to ensure that this profession that deals with vulnerable people is suitable for you, and to ensure that the American Academy of Hypnosis is the right choice for you. If we feel that some other course would be better for you, we would be more than happy to advise who to approach.
We strive to actively enforce our policies which include equal opportunities. We make every adjustment we can to ensure that you may take our courses, provided you are suitable for them, and there is no discrimination on any grounds. We also strive to cater for special learning needs, if required. For instance, a student suffering from dyslexia may submit portfolio evidence in recorded rather than written form. You will find the learning environment safe, cordial, confidential and supportive.
We are delighted to receive feedback from students: questions, suggestions or comments during the course are always welcome. We do our best to adapt to every request that is made. Hypnotherapy is an ‘individual’ profession, and it is important for you to be encouraged and motivated to be yourself as therapist, and find your own way to practice. So remember, your opinions matter!
Ethical values and considerations are very important in a field where one works with vulnerable people. We cover these lessons in depth. You should check with any school as to which, if any, code of ethics do they practice and preach. They should devise a course bound by code of ethics, and should also teach you one for practice.
There is no regulation for hypnotherapy in the US. We still believe, however, that it is vital for you to be associated with well established professional bodies that give you long term support. You are entitled to become part of the National Guild of Hypnotherapists in USA upon the successful completion of your course.
Here at the academy, we believe in the importance of training small groups. This ensures that you get appropriate personal attention. You should enquire about the class sizes of other schools.
